TreSean Singletary

In June, Trasean represented Virginia and Team USA at the World Games in Berlin, taking home gold and bronze in the 3000M and 5000M, respectively. Nine years ago, however, he wasn't able to run more than a quarter mile.

“The mission of Special Olympics is to give people with intellectual disabilities an opportunity to be who they can truly be,” said his coach, Michael Beaver. “Trasean is an athlete who never had that opportunity. Special Olympics gave him an opportunity to let his inner athlete out and he’s taking advantage of it.”
