Turning Up The Heat with VNG | Top Plunger Tips

Veteran Plunger, Tammy Kennedy, is giving away her "coolest" plunger tips

You read about Team Virginia Natural Gas and the “sizzling” support they provide – both funding and manpower – to the annual Polar Plunge in Virginia Beach. You met the Thorpe Family from Prince William and learned how they’ve raised some cold, hard cash – more than $63,000 to be exact – for Special Olympics Virginia during their last 3 (three) Plunges.

And in our final “Turning Up the Heat” we’re here to give away the goose – well, maybe the penguin – and share our coolest tips for your icy dip, thanks to Virginia Natural Gas team captain and repeat plunger Tammy Kennedy. In no particular order but equally frosty:

7. Save the best for last - if you go in first, you may be splashing around longer, so sometimes it’s best to dash your way in from the back.

6. Happy feet – summer sand is nice but winter sand is ice; bring socks or flip flops to wear during your dip

5. Don’t throw in the towel – have someone hold it for you! Have a towel holder ready in a predefined location so you can run straight toward that warm wrap post-Plunge.

4. Friends flock together - it's always best to have your colony with you; if you are meeting friends, decide on a spot to flock in advance - avoid the crowded Boardwalk and inside at Registration (which also will be crowded).

3. Photo bomb - have your paparazzi penguins ready to take pictures nearby; then strut your stuff before the water or after you splash!

2. Toot your horn – sometimes that’s considered prideful but for Plunge, toot toot away; keep letting your fans know about how cool you are on social media and ask them to support you!

1. Don’t be a Plungcrastinator – check in early to avoid lines and crowds; less time in line means more time for FRIENDS (did you really think we’d say anything other than that?!).

See you on the Beach, Plungers!
