Did you think the Cool School Penguin Plunge was over? Well, think again! On Friday March 4th, Plaza Middle School hosted the 1st ever “Plaza Plunge.” The 2022 Cool School top fundraising team put together a mini-Plunge at school for the hardworking students that came together to raise over $16,000 for Special Olympics Virginia this year.
11 Years and Counting
More than 30 students took a break from the books to take a dip in the icy pool and enjoy some pizza from our Virginia Beach Plunge sponsor Papa Johns. They even had a costume contest and hot coco!
Plaza Middle School has been a part of Cool School for 11 years, raising over $165,000 during that time. These students and teachers are true champions for the 22,000+ athletes of Special Olympics Virginia. We asked them why they continue to come back each year and support our mission, and it’s quite simple. “The best part of fundraising was the feeling that I helped someone and that I helped make a difference in someone’s life.”
