2012 Polar Plunge Schedule of Events:

Tuesday, Jan. 31 - Thursday, Feb. 2

  • 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Early Plunge registration at the Ramada

Friday, Feb. 3
  • 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cool School Challenge; Cool School Plunge takes place at noon

  • Noon to 7 p.m. Early Plunge Registration/Check-in & 5K Registration/Packet pick up, Ramada

  • 6-10 p.m. Friday Night Plunge Party featuring local band Butter (under Main Tent, at the end of 7th Street on the beach)

Saturday, Feb. 4

  • 7 a.m. 5K Registration and Packet pick up, Ramada

  • 8:30 a.m. 5K run along the Boardwalk

  • 10 a.m. Winter Festival Begins/Registration for Costume Contests (under Main Tent); Shuttle bus begins pick up at 19th Street lot

  • 10 a.m. Sand sculpting tips & tricks, behind the main sand sculpture near the Main Tent

  • 11 a.m. Opening Ceremony in the Main Tent

  • 11:30 a.m. Sand sculpting tips & tricks, behind the main sand sculpture near the Main Tent

  • 11:30 a.m. Pee Wee Plunge for children 10 and under (under the Main Tent); Sand sculpting tips & tricks, behind the main sand sculpture near the Main Tent

  • Noon Boogie Down the Boardwalk Costume Parade (meet at 6th Street)

  • 1 p.m. End of Registration for Costume Contests

  • 1 p.m. Sand sculpting tips & tricks, behind the main sand sculpture near the Main Tent
              
  • 1:15 p.m. Costume Contests (under Main Tent)

  • 2 p.m. Plunge Check Presentation (under Main Tent) – come see how much we raised!

  • 2:15 p.m. “How to Survive the Plunge” Safety Briefing (in the Plunger-only area)

  • 2:30 p.m. The Plunge!
