Contest period: October 1, 2011 through January 19, 2012. Rules: Register online to participate in the Virginia Beach Cool School Challenge, Polar Plunge or Pee Wee Plunge to be held on Feb. 3 – 4, 2012. Raise at least $100 online using your personalized Firstgiving fundraising page by Dec. 14, 2011 at 9am (EST) or Jan. 19, 2012 at 9am (EST) and you’ll be eligible to win one (1) of two (2) Amazon Fire tablets. Winners will be notified by email and will be given 30 days to claim their prize. Odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible registrations received. No purchase necessary.

Costume Contest

Whether you dig up your favorite Halloween costume or get creative and fashion your own Superhero outfit, don't miss the Polar Plunge costume contest!  Prizes will be awarded for Best Costume in 4 categories: Male, Female, Youth and Group.  To enter the contest, be sure to register under the Main Tent by 1 p.m. Contest winners will be announced at 1:15 p.m. (also under the Main Tent).

If you do dress up, don't forget to also join us for the Boogie Down the Boardwalk Costume Parade.  The parade is open to everyone; participants should meet at 6th Street at noon.

Other Prizes

Prizes also are awarded to the individual Plunger who raises the most money and the largest team.  Additionally, all Plunge teams are placed in divisions based on size; within each division, a prize is awarded for the most money raised. The team divisions are as follows:

• Division 1: 40+ Plungers

• Division 2: 30-39 Plungers

• Division 3: 20-29 Plungers

• Division 4: 10-19 Plungers

• Law Enforcement Teams
